With Customized Home Protection, we don't just paint your house and disappear. We proactively maintain the surfaces we painted for three to five years, and we do it for about the same price as a high quality paint application.

We start by doing great prep work. Then we provide a superb paint application including extra preventive measures specifically tailored to your home. We then return every two years to proactively tune-up your paint job. At each two year visit we:

• thoroughly pressure wash and inspect all painted surfaces,
• scrape, spot prime, and repaint any peeling areas,
• recaulk trim and repaint windows where needed, and
• inspect for and report on any wood deterioration.

You get much more for your money. With a typical exterior paint job you just get an application of paint. With Customized Home Protection you get the best possible paint application

Frequently Asked Questions

Are painting warranties of any value?

There are two general problems with "warranties" from paint manufacturers and/or painting companies.

• All manufacturers and some painting compaines limit their liability to the cost of replacing the "defective" paint. Even if they interpret "defective" generously, the cost of the paint is only a very small part of the cost of painting your house.
  
  
• A more subtle problem is that most company's warranties only include the separation of new paint from the layer of paint it was applied to. They exclude the separation of underlying paint layers from house surfaces. This makes sense from the company's point of view because they can accurately claim, "It's not our fault." But it severely limits the value of the "warranty" since almost all likely paint peeling will be excluded.

What kinds of paint do you use?

For the five year program we use Duron's Signature Lifetime, or Sherwin Williams' Duration or Porter's Permanizer. For the three year program we use Duron's Weathershield, or Sherwin William's Superpaint, or Porter's Acri-Shield.

What about rotten wood or siding?

Stepping up to the best possible painting program won't solve all your maintenance problems, but it will surely minimize them. Customized Home Protection keeps your wood and siding replacement expenses low by maintaining the paint coating over your home's trim and siding. Our regular two-year inspections insure that surfaces exposed by peeling are quickly spot primed and repainted.

The most common sources of wood rot are water problems. If water is overflowing your gutters then your soffits will rot, regardless of how they were painted.

Customized Home Protection serves as an early warning system for these common non-paint problems. We will carefully inspect your home for signs of wood rot during our initial visit and on subsequent two year inspections. If found, we will notify you of problem areas. Our carpentry division will gladly estimate and make repairs.

Can Highland Park Painting make other home repairs?
